"Morning at Marina"

I had another wonderful plein air day today. It was my first time painting boats from live, and it was also my first time using wide panorama format. I still feel clumsy of using grays. It will take me a while to develop the sensitivity. At least I feel I know what I am doing. This marina is only 5 minutes from my home. I will go there more often doing more boats.

You may feel clumsy with your grays, but I certainly can't tell by this painting. I find it really beautiful with the grays and the vivid, saturated blues on the boats and the touches of red. Well done!!

I really like this painting alot Qiang. A very somber tone. I think your greys are great and I love the splash of color on the boats.

WOW! This is my favorite painting, including all the still life paintings! I LOVE this grey pallette, and your sensitivity to the "atmosphere" is right on target! BRAVO!!!

Qiang: This is just beautiful, I am compelled to comment. I always like your still lives, but oh, my this is lovely. Gorgeous greys! And those little touches of blue are so nice.
