"Strawberries" --- Sold

"Warm shadow and cool light" is a kind of rule of thumb for still life paintings. However, for this painting, I did the opposite. The setup was lit by a halogen light. It was very orange, but the shadow got quite bit of cooler reflection light into it because I was using filtered light for my canvas and palette. Some of the cooler light got into the shadows. I don't particularly like this lighting conditions, but it doesn't hurt to try one and two.

But it is interesting and the white pitcher is a convincing white. I like it!
