Then and Now

In my art, I stress on contrast. In my everyday life, I also try to capture any glimpses of contrasty moments. This photo is showing one of those moments: old vs. new, traditional vs. modern, feminine vs. masculine, humility vs. aggression, ... That is life. That is art.

Hi Qiang--your messages are always sincere, and also very profound. Contrast is also extrememly important to me in life and in art. I first contemplated fully and appreciated the concept (of contrast) by learning Chinese Brush Painting. It is about combining the opposites. I love it so much that I now teach it. That you capture this concept with the two buildings juxtaposed is a magical moment! Thank you for sharing this as a profound example.
