"Waiting for Coffee" --- Sold

I did this painting before I went camping near Rock Port, TX for two days. You can see I changed the background color from my usual way. As a personal preference I like dark background on a painting a lot, but now I get a little tired of it. I like the change on this one.

Qiang, I like the background color, really like the orange red cup and saucer. Don't know if I would have placed just one grape there but your paintings always seem to work. Barb

qiang, i subscribe to you blog and enjoy seeing your paintings. i really like that you went out of the box with the lighter background, it was a nice change of pace and really lends a different quality to the overall feel. i am always captivated by that marble you use!

nice brevity or limiting of brushwork to that which is essential, coupled with wonderful color and value work.

Like your style...

Qiang, I dig your painting. Your use of color is very poetic and intelligent. Your brush strokes are also very playful but sophisticated, they structure your compositions well. I have a question that I hope isn't too personal. What colors are usually on your palette?
