"Zhouzhuang Impression"

Coming back from New Braunfels. I was swamped into many chores and had to face some personal challenges. I didn't get a chance to paint until yesterday. This painting was quite an effort. The location is Zhouzhuang, China, where I plan to revisit this fall, and bring a few artists with me to paint plein air. To honest with you, I don't feel very comfortable painting landscapes, especially with subtle gray colors like this one. Now I have no way out, I have told everybody I am going to paint Zhouzhuang. So I better be prepared. I also encourage you to go with me. My information of this painting trip comes out relatively late, many of you may have already planned your vocations and painting trip for this year. But just in case you have interest and welling to go with me, this trip is still have quite a few openings. Please check Plein Air Painting in China to get more information.

Very interesting to me that landscape painters and still life painters lean in one direction or another. They can do the other genre, but prefer one. It's almost like handedness, right or left. To see the light indoors as well as you see it outdoors, I struggle with that. Easier for me to see it outside. This is a very well done landscape imo. The light is there.

You may not like landscapes Qiang, but wow, as one who makes a living from painting them, you're good! Best wishes from England, Peter.

This is a beautiful painting Qiang-Huang, such lovely gray tones with a touch of red or green to make it more interesting.

I love the colors of his paintings of still-life they are vibrant and cheerful, always highlighted in a dark background, I love. However too liked this gray landscape, which leads me to deduce that you're really a painter of my preference.

This is beautiful -- I love the quality of the paint, and the grays are beautiful! Maybe the discomfort is a good thing?
