"Three Roses"

To buy, click here for information
This is another painting showing at Whistle Pik Gallery. Someone asked me how to mix grey, I like to use Ultramarine Blue + Cadmium Orange to give me a greenish grey, then I did Naples Yellow to lighten the value. You may also put some red the change the saturation.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I adore that greenish color and wondered how you did it! I love your work. Your roses are beautiful especially the yellow one. There is just enough detail, but not so much--which leaves the rose appearing soft. When I gather the courage, I will try one myself. Thanks for your blog, I love reading and learning from it.

I really appreciate you sharing your 'grey' information. Now I am off to practice.... I am enjoying your flowers much more than you are! Thanks!
