"Old Beauty"

This is a relatively large painting. I like that white blue pot. I got it from an antique store. I am not sure what it was for. Was it a soup container? Can someone tell me? It looks very old, and it makes a very good still life object. I like to paint old stuff. I know many (if it is not all) artists do. I am not very sure why the old stuff is better. Is it because old objects show effect of time or the timelessness. We are often nostalgic for our earlier lifes. Is it because our currently time so tasteless so we are long for the good old days. Anyway, the old stuff looks better to me.

Qiang-Huang, this looks like a soup tureen. It looks a bit like a Royal Copenhagen tureen. Lovely painting.

This is absolutely exquisite Qiang, I love it. It is a soup toureen altho I also serve stews and such in them. We artists like old because there was not the tendency to mass produce goods, the object had value in many ways even after a nick or chip. Today it all comes from a machine and we toss it with the first scratch. My opinion!

Very beautiful, Qiang. Yes, it is a soup tureen. A wonderful thing to have at the family table filled with steaming hot soup of any kind. Comfort food and an item that shows comfort when used in your painting.

Another beauty, Quang. Your soup tureen was a wonderful find, hope to see it in many more still life set ups.

here in England there are many antique shops that you can find these old treasure. Although I am lucky enough to have a lovely treasure of your painting of a pear and grapes, which I often look at and admire, and may I say instructs too.
