This painting is my imitation of one of Richard Schmid's paintings. I believe studying the great master's work is one of the best ways of learning. With this painting I am practicing how to paint leaves. I really like Richard's colors and edges.

this is lovely. I love all the different colors in those leaves.
I just read Schmid's book...still not sure I understand how he does such amazing paintings. I love this one of yours.
