"Demo at Cary 2013 2" --- Sold

As usual, my second demo was about flowers. Also I did this one with a high key scheme. I demonstrated this painting on a Ampersand Gessobord. It show the brushwork very differently than that on a stretched canvas.

My Cary workshop was very successful. A couple of hours from now I will drive to my second North Carolina workshop location, which is in Kinston. This area is also called the Research Triangle.  Many boitech and pharmaceutical industries are located here. I am no longer technical. Otherwise, I maybe interested in visiting some of the companies.

Dear Qiang Huang,
A query regarding your painting style. I'm an artist myself and love the way you have painted this still life. Do to paint in a way that the objects cut in geometric shapes?
My current week was also about flowers and frankly I found them to be very difficult to paint. I'm doing realistic work as of now, but would love to experiment and paint the way you have, but would need a few tips from you on how to proceed.

Thanks & Cheers

Lovely painting ! Your brushwork is superb. Personally, I am beginning to prefer Ampersand panels instead of stretched canvas; especially when I do fine detail work since the panel is smooth.

Looking forward to your future posts!
