This is the second portrait I did at the Carolyn Anderson's workshop. I think I like this one even better. This one is more accurate and solid. It is not as loose as the previous one, but the accuracy is more important. Don't you agree?
There is beautiful unity to the painting. The solid forms of the head emerge gradually from the surrounding space, as though molecules in the air are coalescing to form the head. Very lovely.
Very well done, is this portrait from a live model?
