Continuing on value design and fold study. I hardly use any white for painting the table cloth. The illumination of the setup was very warm, so the brightest area on the cloth was pure "naples yellow light" (Winsor & Newton). My goal of this study is to see how dark I can go but still keeping the cloth appearing "white"looking.
Very decisive brushwork, Qiang. Love the stroke of the core shadow running across the face of the vase. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteThis is certainly a good result with the folds and the pot is so well painted. Good title, too.
ReplyDeleteI love the light hitting the top handles. Very exciting. Hang in there Qiang...2012 is a new beginning. You have had a very challenging year. Don't forget to count your successes!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting and composition!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done. Love the warm red and draped cloth. I love your explanation also.
ReplyDeleteVery rich and juicy! Well done.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful, sir. The drapery looks white in the dark so naturally. Wow this is amazing. I thought you would use many white in it. Please forgive my foolishness. (I always wonder why when I choose the yellow color at the same position of the other colors in the digital drawing color palette, it turns more lighter value than the other colors when I change it to black and white. )
ReplyDelete(I mean I thought you used many white in the drawing to look like this. Please forgive me. I'm not good at English. I hope you understand what I wrote. ^^; )
