I did this one last Sunday. Song really likes this painting. So I am not going to sell it, but I share the image with you. I have done quite a few rose paintings so far. However, I still don't have the confidence to say I know how to do it. I struggle every time. I plan to paint more roses this a couple of months, and sincerely hope I can gain control eventually. If you feel that you don't know how to paint any specific subject, just paint more until you get it.
This Friday I will start my first workshop teaching. I will be in Houston.
So very true. It requires a lot of painting again and again to improve, but it really works!
ReplyDeleteHi. I follow your blog, and I really love your paintings, so I posted a link to this painting on my blog, so more people could see it and check out your others. ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful painting, no wonder Song loves it.
ReplyDeleteHave a great workshop! It should be fun. I would love to be there.
I think all of your paintings are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love where you're going with the roses--appreciate the somewhat abstracted roses to let the main rose shine. Keep going!

This is so beautiful, Quang. I suspect you've heard this before, but your style reminds me of Richard Schmid. And that's a big complement!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting, Qiang. I especially like the contrast you have between the sharp edges and soft, disappearing ones. Brilliantly done and very effective.
ReplyDeleteThese roses are amazingly beautiful Qiang.I am glad to have come across your blog. Its a treat to eye.
ReplyDeleteHi: I didn't know you had a blog, (cheers) but linked over from Carol Marine's blog. I've seen your paintings in art magazines! The best of luck on your first teaching assignment. You'll do great.
