"Classical Moment"
I owe quite a few my friends violin paintings. Now it is the time to do some. This task was a difficult one. I did this painting with 4 sessions in two days. I still not used to paint in multiple sessions, especially the second day. Every session, I almost had to paint entire painting on top of the previous one, because I can't stand to see dry spots. I start to use a lot of medium on the second day. I think we have discussed before about painting in the second day. I should have used retouch varnish to bring back freshness, but I didn't do that. I just painted over. This painting is very dark. I am in the middle of testing new lights, and I did illuminate my canvas too bright. Oh boy, I had a lot of struggle, but the paintings comes out all right, I think.
Yes, you did fine! :) It's beautiful
ReplyDeleteThe painting is beautiful and a lovely composition. Interesting to hear how you handled a 2 day painting.
ReplyDeleteI think we can all understand about lighting and photographs.
Nice to know even the big boys and girls are learning all the time:)
Even CHARDIN would like this, I guess...
ReplyDeleteOh my! This is so beautiful. It has a wonderful wooden, soft look. Great perspective.
ReplyDeleteI think it is lovely. Good result for a long struggle!!!
ReplyDeleterealy great work.i havent seen this kind of still life.so i would like to learn from you.plz keep touching with my blog with suggestions.thank you.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I love the warm wood tone and you nailed that difficult angle on a difficult shape.
ReplyDeleteLet me encourage you to try putting your painting in the freezer after each session. I've been doing this for a couple of years now. It really helps me because I work full time also and my painting sessions are short. I also keep my palette in the freezer and both stay just as wet as if I never stopped painting. The paint will begin to close some if left in there for more than 3-4 days. Just try it you'll like it!
I'm a big fan of yours!!!!!!!
Can you share some of your lighting techniques? You mentioned in the past about your illumination struggles and you recently mentioned you are working with new lights.
ReplyDeleteI think we all struggle with lighting in our home studios, lights, spots, northerly windows, etc, so any help you can provide will be appreciated. Thanks
