The Holiday Season is over, but I still have this poinsettia. As a matter of fact, I did not know the name of this flower when I painted this painting. I have to google it before this post. Now I know why poinsettia is related to Christmas. I really like the legend.
Of course, I love the whole painting, but my very favorite part is the leaf that's pointing right at me: the subtle color, the soft shadow, the sharp crease... wow.
ReplyDeleteThis is really beautiful! and Kim is right the leaf part is so painterly without being one mass of colors. Love the subtle hues in the plant, too. Thanks and Happy creative new year to you.
ReplyDeleteThis is so awesome!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteInspirational, as always! Love your brush economy and the bright, clean red especially.
ReplyDelete(I bought a pointsettia for the holidays too, of the red variety. Unfortunately mine passed on before I could squeeze it into the painting regimen.)
I've viewed many of your posts and am so taken with your extraordinary talent.
ReplyDeleteEvery brushstroke was as carefully placed as a surgeons' tool.
Your work is so full of life and study and fantastic use of color and stroke.
Really, exceptional.
