My exploration on leaves continues. I can't say much of progress on this one, but it did document my journey. I think the ability of painting leaves can connect the both still life and landscape painting together. We have talked about that very few artists can do both well. I believe painting leaves will help for sure.

  1. I really like how you are depicting the leaves and the relationship between them and the still life in the painting. I also enjoyed your comment on technology. Amen!

  5. I'm really enjoying your leaf studies. I think the first Green Rhythm is my favorite, but this one is nice too - green is such a refreshing and lively color.

  6. I hope you continue with your discussions about connecting still life and landscape painting. I am a still life painter and struggle with landscapes - they lack the strength and drama of my still lifes. Thank you.

  7. Hi Qiang,
I love the studies of leaves that you are currently doing. Could you possibly share your methods. For example, are you painting a leaf in just two strokes, one for each side of the leaf? Also, how are you mixing these luscious greens you are getting. I really like how scholarly you are about your painting.
