"Yellow Rose and Violin" --- Sold

This gallery painting took me two days. Violin is a difficult to paint. It is delicately made and it keeps tell me: Keep your big wishy-washy brush away. It is really a balance issue to know how loose I can go, especially with the objects like a violin.

Your brush has shown the violin the respect it deserves.

I was looking at my daughter's violin recently, and wondered to myself "how would Qiang paint this?"
Is that scary?!
But, I should have known you would allow light to play the instrument, and play it beautifully.

if I'm ever confused about what edges and values should look like, I look at your work. I this one is amazing. Too much to say other than I am humbled as always. :)

Qiang, I love how direct your brush strokes are. I know how tricky it can be to get the right color, shape, and value in a single stroke. This painting must have been particularly tricky getting it right with the difficult shapes of the violin. Nice work and great painting!

The violin is just stunning. I also love the background showing through to give it that extra glow. Pat

Good job Qiang - I am a violinist AND an artist - it is taking me nearly three years to paint my violin - your two days is wonderful!
