They are neither oranges nor lemons. They are beautiful small melons grown in our yard. I don't know their names. They don't taste good, but they surely have a vibrant color.
With this painting, I am experimenting again. I want my paintings look more modern. I really like one of my fellow daily painters Aaron Lifferth's work. He uses very simple designs, but gives very strong color impressions.

You handled the distortion caused by the glass so beautifully. I look at your work almost daily, and only comment rarely, but just had to surface to say, "Wow."
I agree with Susan, "WOW"! I love your testing the waters into a more modern look. I do love your traditional Qiang-Huang paintings, too.
I agree with you about Aarons work. But I also admire your painting skills, always beautiful artistic brush work. I do like the look of this new painting....the brighter blue background really works.
Hi Qiang,
I am starting a Painting a day project. I had a go several years ago, but lost direction, however I think I have improved as an artist so hopefully I will maintain some momentum this time. - Your stuff is great & i admire how long you have stuck to it...its gonna take a while to go through your blog but im gonna give it a go!
Yes, this is a very modern look and you did it great as all of your paintings. Always fun to test the waters. The colors are just wonderful. The little gold melons are sure interesting.
This is very nice. I love how you handled the glass. Quite simply, but very believable.
I think this one is brilliant. You got the technique combine with style. Sweet!
Hey Qiang,
You are an amazing painter. I have always admired your work.
Funny, I was on Aaron Lifferth's site this morning admiring his beautiful work.
I see he's been here too. SO many great painters here in the blogosphere. It's a fabulous place to learn.
